Manager Lee Johnson has said he’s hoping that Oldham can avenge the early season defeat to Leyton Orient as we host them this weekend in the FA Cup.

Having been critical of our second half performance the manager told the Official Site that he was looking forward to a much better showing from us in this game and that we were obviously going for the victory.

‘It’s a really good tie against a side who have gone for it this year but it hasn’t gone well so far in the league. They have some really good players and I thought we had a really good 45 minutes against them earlier in the season. The second half was probably the worst we have played all season. They ended up scoring goals which were individual errors and that game didn’t sit well with me so I’m looking to put that to bed.’

Johnson went on to say that we know all about their threats and we have done our homework on them, but as ever, it’s about us making sure that we focus on our strengths and that we get our game right on the day.

With striker Jonathan Forte being nominated for the Player of the Month award, the gaffer added that he felt with his form he had a very good chance of winning it, because for him he doesn’t feel it’s any surprise that when Forte fires on all cylinders so do we as a team.

With Johnson getting the nomination for Manager of the Month aswell, he added that he was delighted to have received the nomination but he didn’t think he would win it.
