Manager Lee Johnson has looked ahead to the game against Carlisle and looked briefly back to our draw against Coventry City.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer first talked about our last match.

‘It was important we didn’t lose the game. I was disappointed we didn’t win it because I thought we had the better chances but it had a bit of an end of season type feel to the game.’

As he explained previously, his greatest delight from the game was again keeping a clean sheet, as he knows that the foundation we need in games to go forward, although he was disappointed we didn’t quite have enough up front on the day.

The positives from that game though he knows we can take into Carlisle, and hopefully click at the other end as well and take the victory.

Of course, a victory in this game would see us mathematically safe for this season as well, so there’s more than enough to play for.

‘Carlisle are fighting for their lives and so are Notts County so we have a massive part to play in our season. We’ve got to stay lively in those two games. We’re going to need a point. We’d be very unlucky to go down on this points tally but it’s still a possibility. They boys want to continue the run and we’ll go to Carlisle and be up for a big battle.’

With the Easter weekend now beyond us, and a return of four points from an available six, Johnson admits he was pleased with how the weekend went, but obviously the players have had to rest and recover following two games in quick succession.

‘It was a good return from a difficult period. I thought we performed really well but I was disappointed not to win against Coventry. I felt we could have won it.’
