Manager Lee Johnson has called on the team to go four unbeaten in the league when we face Brentford this weekend.

Following on from two draws against Leyton Orient and Crewe Alexandra, with a win in the middle against Crawley Town, the gaffer wants the team to really kick on now and hopefully pick up another win to have a return of eight from the last available twelve.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Johnson said he believes that with the boost of confidence we’d have received from our recent run, especially battling to a very good points in the game against Leyton Orient, he believes we can capitalise on Brentford’s loss to Rotherham in midweek.

‘It’s getting to that point in the season where you think you’re over the line, and you’re not. You then start to get a bit edgy and panicky and hopefully we’ll be able to capitalise on Brentford on Saturday.’

With Korey Smith taking the plaudits for his strike following his return to fitness, the midfielder himself said he wasn’t over his injury, it was more a case of managing it and training steadily with plenty of time off so he was ready for the match days, and Johnson says it’s basically a day to day thing with him at the moment in terms of assessing him and whilst we do have some knocks and niggles, he’s hopeful they will clear up.

Having had a gentleman’s agreement in place it appears to see us loan back defender James Tarkowski following his sale – that never came to pass – the young talent will finally be on the pitch with our team this weekend, but sadly for the opposition.

‘I’d expect him to play. I’m sure he’ll be involved and I hope to see him involved because we know a lot about him.’

We certainly do and whilst we also know his potential and talent, we also know those areas of the game he still needs to improve – so hopefully if he does start we can make that count and then wish him the best after the final time whistle.
