Matt Smith might have earned Oldham a nice payday of an FA Cup replay against Everton at Goodison Park on February 27th, however he also earned him a weeks wage fine!

Ahead of the game Oldham players were informed not to throw their shirts into the crowd or exchange them with Everton players at full time as the costs of buying in new kit couldn’t be justified.

The 23-year-olds decision to throw his shirt into the crowd has set him back £400.

In spite of the financial situation reports that the club are “desperately trying to find the person who caught the shirt” in order to get it back seem a little extreme!

Jose Baxter swapped his shirt with Leighton Baines, if he didn’t get this back from the England international then he will also see himself faced with a fine.
