Korey Smith and James Dayton have both been talking following our victory over Carlisle, and they believe Oldham can remain unbeaten until the end of the season now.

Speaking to the Official Site following the one nil victory against Carlisle which took our unbeaten run to eight games, both players believed we could now finish on a high and remain unbeaten and really give ourselves some momentum going forward into our next term.

Starting firstly with Smith he said.

‘It’s another game unbeaten, that’s four wins and four draws and we’re really happy with our form. We wish we could’ve done it earlier in the season. We’ve set the target of going through the rest of the season unbeaten.’

Dayton himself scored the winner in our last game and he was in agreement with Smith.

‘We’re looking forward to Tuesday and keeping the run going. We should have picked up more points at the start of the season. We were playing some great football but we weren’t scoring as many goals as we should.’

Dayton adds that there is a sense of disappointment and frustration within the camp that we really have only gelled like this at the tail end of the season, but that in itself should bode well for next season and he, like others, are looking towards having a bit of a run at the play offs if we can keep this side together, improve it further, and then take our current form levels through to 2014-15.
