Oldham are in the running for a possible double award this week with the boss and a player nominated for the October monthly awards!

For masterminding a continued improved Oldham run, which of course ended with defeat to league leaders Bristol City on Saturday (so November anyway), Lee Johnson is one of the four nominees to become the league 1 manager of the month.

To win this he’ll have to overcome Steve Davis (Crewe Alexandra), Shaun Derry (Notts County) and Simon Grayson (Preston North End).

Reward for Jonathan Forte’s continued goalscoring ability, five-goals in five-games, as he showed his calmness and composure several times has seen him put forward for the league 1 player of the month.

His rivals for this are Gwion Edwards (Crawley Town), Dean Lewington (Milton Keynes Dons) and Marcus Maddison (Peterborough United).

Forte has already scooped the PFA Fans player of the month award for October with the winner of these gongs announced on Friday.

Winning these or not nominations is reward for a wonder season for us so far!
