Oldham manager Paul Dickov remained confident that his side can bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the season at the hands of Peterborough at London Road on Saturday.

Ritchie Jones and Chris Taylor put the visitors in command before Posh struck back just before the break through James Wesolowski.

Then after the break, goals from Aaron McLean, George Boyd, Dave Hibbert and Grant McCann’s penalty left Dickov`s side feeling shell shocked.

Dickov said: ‘We managed to put a five-match unbeaten run together before going to Peterborough and we now need to work towards putting another run together.

‘I wasn’t getting carried away while we were picking up points and the results were going our way, so I’m not going to over-react to one defeat.

‘We lost a silly goal before half-time and that was obviously a big moment in the game. It allowed Peterborough to go in for the break with their tails-up and that makes a huge difference.

‘The last thing I said to my lads before leaving the dressing room was to make sure they defended properly, but we didn’t do. We didn’t get the basics right and you are always going to be in trouble against a team with the attacking talent that Peterborough possess when that happens.’
