Dickov was disappointed that some of his players forgot everything they had put together on the training ground and simply looked like they had given up instead of giving their all for the club.
Dickov was happy with the way his side handled themselves in the first half but the game was lost in sixth second half minutes that saw the home side end up two down and having no clue how to get back into the game.
Dickov told the club’s official website: ‘I don’t want anyone feeling sorry for themselves, we’ve got to pick ourselves up. What they must realise is they’re not kids anymore, they’ve got to be men.’
Dickov added: ‘It was a tough start and we’re disappointed because I felt the first half was a pretty even game and we were comfortable coming in at half-time.
‘We were in the game at half-time without playing anywhere near as well as we can. I don’t think they caused us any problems in the first half and they ended up scoring from a corner, which was never a corner in a month of Sundays, but that summed the referee up.
‘We didn’t pick up our man and as soon as they scored, three or four of our players, everything we worked at pre-season, everything we worked at last season with team shape and discipline and everything else, three or four of them gave it up and I won’t have that.’
