Oldham manager Paul Dickov was well pleased with his side after watching them pull off a 1-0 win at Walsall on Tuesday night.

Now the Latics have lifted their game a little after going on to making it just one defeat in six games

Dickov said: ‘This is a hard place to come and at times it was not the prettiest, but at other times when we got the ball down and passed it we were excellent and scored a goal from a good passing move.

‘In the first 20 minutes from the second half some of our football was fantastic and I thought we deserved another goal.

‘If you don’t get the second goal you come under pressure and in the last 10 minutes they put us under pressure, but we defended fantastically well from the back to the front.

‘What we need is to have consistency and I believe we have a good team. We also had five players who were unavailable.’
