Oldham boss Paul Dickov just cannot believe the run of bad luck his side are going through at the moment, especially after the game with Brighton.

Oldham bossed the game for much of the 90 minutes against the league leaders, but again failed to get anything from the game which left the boss questioning their luck.

Speaking to PA Sport he said: ‘I asked the boys if any of them have run over a black cat.

‘We should have had two penalties and, having watched their goal again, I know it was four yards off side – even Gus (Poyet) agrees with that.

Dickov has a point, luck does not go your way in the football game when you are struggling for points, but it just rubs salt into the wounds when officials don`t make the right decisions

Ashley Barnes grabbed what proved to be the match-winner despite suspicions of offside with 22 minutes left on the clock.

Dickov added: ‘It isn’t sour grapes because Brighton are a good team but we will be okay if we keep performing like that.

‘I’m gutted for the lads after the effort they put in and after they caused a good Brighton side all sorts of problems. You would never have known which team were top of the league.’
