Oldham Athletic are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Joel Coleman in the one nil victory over Crewe Alexandra at the weekend at Boundary Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Coleman was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A second clean sheet in a matter of days for Coleman, with the latest ensuring Oldham’s Sky Bet League 1 survival. The Latics stopper was in fine form with a string of saves, including denying Callum Saunders one-on-one and saving a curling Bradden Inman effort in the 1-0 win at Boundary Park.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Coleman for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joel Coleman (Oldham Athletic), Darius Charles (Wimbledon), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Marc Roberts (Barnsley), Michael Jacobs (Wigan Athletic), Michael O’Connor (Port Vale), Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest), Dean Parrett (Stevenage), Chris Taylor (Millwall), James Hanson (Bradford City), Lucas Akins (Burton Albion).

Manager – John Still (Dagenham and Redbridge).
