Oldham Athletic are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Peter Clarke in the one nil victory over Charlton Athletic in midweek at Boundary Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Clarke was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Clarke produced another fine performance as Oldham picked up a second successive victory, helping them climb to 19th in Sky Bet League One. The Latics’ skipper stood tall against Charlton Athletic, making key blocks and dealing with all that was thrown his way in the 1-0 win.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Clarke for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the points.

Full Team:

Luke Daniels (Scunthorpe United), Enda Stevens (Portsmouth), Peter Clarke (Oldham Athletic), Vincent Sasso (Sheffield Wednesday), Jake Buxton (Wigan Athletic), Jason Demetriou (Southend United), Kadeem Harris (Cardiff City), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Gavin Massey (Leyton Orient), Tom Bradshaw (Barnsley), Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley).

Manager – David Artell (Crewe Alexandra).
