Striker Jonson Clarke-Harris has said he was absolutely delighted to have played his part in a fantastic win over Crawley Town last weekend.

His performance on the day saw him pick up the official Man of the Match award for the game, and despite playing a huge part for us, when speaking to the Official Site he was quick to pass on the praise to his team mates.

‘Three points was definitely needed. I thought the boys played really well and it was good for them to dig deep in the second half and we deserved the win. It’s more about the points than the individual performance. I’m just happy the lads got the three points to put daylight between us and the bottom four teams.’

The 19 year only signed a contract extension at the beginning of the year and manager Lee Johnson does have faith in him to develop further and become even more important for us in coming season, and part of that will be consistency, and that was seen even in the game where he could’ve doubled our advantage and he admitted himself he was disappointed to have not got on the score sheet, but he knows if he keeps performing like that and getting into the positions the goals should and will definitely come for him.

Finishing his interview he said that everyone was a high, but nobody was getting carried away, as they all knew it was important we build on this win when we face Leyton Orient tonight, as back to back wins would really change the fortunes of our season so far and that’s what they’ll be going out to achieve.
