Conor Wilkinson might have only managed to find the back of the net once for Oldham during his loan spell but it was a loan spell that was enjoyed by all parties.

Now back with parent club Bolton Wanderers, after the completion of his one-month loan spell, he now has to wait and see what his new boss at Bolton has install for him as Neil Lennon was appointed the new man in charge this weekend.

Wilkinson signed off in the best possible way by scoring, at the seventh attempt, in the two-one win over Walsall at Boundary Park on Saturday.

Ahead of the game Lee Johnson told him to ‘go out with a bang’ and he certainly did that.

The strike now has to see ‘where he stands’ with the new boss but if he isn’t going to get the first-team football he’s looking for he will be looking to go out on loan again and if that chance comes around and he can do that with us again he would ‘love to come back.’

Johnson has already said that he was hopeful on bringing him back ‘sometime’ so it appears to be a decision that’s very much in Bolton’s hands now….
